Polluting industries are using women’s football to greenwash their image while fueling climate change and spending millions to lobby against the solutions. Climate change is already leaving its mark on women’s football.
Grassroots sport in particular is being badly impacted by floods, droughts and storms, and during the 2023 FIFA Women’s World Cup, a record-breaking heatwave rolled through Europe.
The impact of climate change extends beyond the football field. Women are often worse off than men socially, economically and culturally. Climate change will only exacerbate this.
As fans of women’s football, we consistently address issues that matter to women and the world at large. From equal pay, to the fight against sexual harassment and abuse, to LGBTQ+ rights, to the simple opportunity for girls to play football, our causes are inseparable from our passion for the sport.
We firmly believe that the growth and success of women's football should go hand in hand with values that empower women and protect our planet.
